Foundation repair in Florida

What Florida's soil and climate do to homes, who to check with before you hire anyone, and every city our crews work in.

Florida has two very different foundation stories. Along the coast and in the western Panhandle, loose sand drains fast, and it doesn't swell. Its main risk is washout, when water carries soil away from under the edge of a slab. High groundwater can soften it further.

Around Tallahassee, red clay hills sit on top of karst limestone. Clay shifts with moisture, and limestone can form sinkholes. Intense summer rain and hurricanes affect both areas, and damage from a big storm can keep showing up for months.

Slabs are the most common foundation in the state, with some raised homes near the water. We handle piers and fill for settled slabs, new supports for raised homes and the drainage changes that keep things stable.
