About Foundation Repair

We inspect and repair foundations, crawl spaces and basements. Here's how we go about it.

How we work

We measure before we sell. Anyone can look at a crack and guess, and a lot of people in this trade do. We take elevation readings, map cracks, check moisture and look at drainage, and only then do we talk about what your house needs.

The plan goes in writing, too. You'll see what we'd do, where we'd do it, why and what it costs. If we find options, you'll see those as well, from the smallest fix to the complete one.

We also tell the truth when it doesn't help us. If your crack is cosmetic, we'll tell you. If extending a downspout might solve it, we'll tell you that too. That costs us a job now and then, and we're fine with it.

Who you'll meet

You'll meet the person who's actually going to measure your house, not a call center. They'll walk the outside and the inside with you, go under the house if there's an under-the-house to go to, and sit down afterward to go over what they found. Our crews do the work themselves, and you'll know who's coming before they show up.

Where we work

We work in cities across 13 states and Washington, DC, with a lot of Texas in the mix. You'll find the full list, plus what the local soil does to homes in each place, on our page for the areas we serve.

Our promise

If it's cosmetic, we'll tell you. If it can wait, we'll tell you that as well. You'll never get a "price good today only" from us, and we won't start work until you've had time to read the plan and get a second opinion if you want one.

What we won't do

  • We won't invent a deadline to get you to sign today.
  • We won't recommend piers until we've looked at drainage and, where it matters, plumbing.
  • We won't post made-up reviews or claim credentials we don't hold. If this site doesn't list a number or an award, it's because we haven't got one to show you yet.
  • We won't tell you what your house needs from a phone call.

How to check us out

Ask us for license and insurance details for your state, then check them with the state or local office yourself. Each state page in our service area lists where to look. Ask for addresses of past jobs, too. Any company you're considering should be happy to do all of this, including us.

How this site pays for itself

We make our living from repair work, and some of our guides carry labeled ads from Google. Our advertising disclosure spells that out, and our editorial policy explains how we write and correct our pages.

Curious about the steps? Here's how it works. Got questions? Contact us or read through our glossary of terms. You can also browse our services and our homeowner guides, and read our privacy policy and terms of use.
